Sometimes we have to remember to stop what we’re doing and just take a few minutes to look around at all the beauty that surrounds us. We get so busy with chores around the house, work, running errands or whatever, that we don’t remember to appreciate this wonderful place where we live!
Spring is such a busy time of the year here at our little farmstead. I’ll blog about some of the projects we’ve got going on in a bit, but right now let’s take some time to breath the fresh air, smell the flowers that are blooming, and just to be grateful for all the good things we have.
This little Japanese maple in the front bed is fairly new, we planted it last year. We bought it at Lowe’s (I believe) on clearance for $3 – not bad!
This photo of the violets was taken a couple weeks ago, some of the very first flowers to pop up this spring.
A little blurry of Nia, but she’s enjoying the evening air. She loves to sit outside in the grass while surveying her kingdom.
This snapping turtle appeared in the front a couple days ago, slowly making his (or her?) way from the south woods to the pond. I had to use the zoom on my camera to take the photo–there was no way I was going to get any closer to him/her than I had to. The dogs barked up a storm at him/her and were quite mad that I didn’t let them out of the house to investigate in more detail.
Taking a short rest break this afternoon with some freshly brewed iced tea. Not a bad view.
